Emergency Preparedness for Church Ushers, Greeters and Parking Attendants

This 2-hour course is designed for churches with volunteer Ushers, Greeters and Parking Attendants. The course highlights church Safety and Security and Emergency Preparedness policy and procedures. The intent of this course is to educate and train church volunteers on these policies. Church emergencies can range in scope and size from medical emergencies, lost or missing children, fires, severe storms and natural disasters to significant acts of violence including robbery and active shooter.

It is a fact that the immediate response actions of trained personnel during emergencies can mitigate risk and harm to the congregation and may save lives. It is therefore imperative that Ushers, Greeters and Parking Attendant volunteers are trained periodically on church policy related to emergency preparedness to ensure they react quickly and efficiently to implement emergency response protocols when directed by church leadership or prompted by an evil or criminal intent by another.

During this course, attendees will review church policy, procedure and response protocols associate with Emergency Preparedness, walk through the actions they may be required to take (Lock Down, Shelter In Place, Evacuation procedures) and be tested on their knowledge of related church policy and procedure.
